History of Mercedes

Over a century ago, the names Daimler and Benz worked together on building a new form of transport, this of course was the horseless carriage.
Carl Benz was working on his patent Motor Wagon, while Gottlib Daimler was engineering his four-wheeler motor carriage. Together, these men set the world moving. Daimler placed an order of 36 cars in 1901, and this is where Mercedes name was incorporated, Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschat had produced a special car for Emil Jellinek. Jellinek named the car after his ten-year-old daughter ‘Mercedes’.
And so, the name Mercedes-Benz was created as Daimler also used Mercedes for other models and the two companies merged in 1926.
